IJS-0701 In silico analysis of the impact of non-synonymous Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (nsSNPs) in the human Il-6 gene related to autoimmune diseases

Author(s): Freitas, A.F.F.; Freitas, N.S.A.; Montes, M.A.; Maia, M.M.D.

Abstract: Non-synonymous single nucleotide polymorphisms (nsSNPs) represent a common genetic variation that alters amino acids encoded in proteins. All nsSNPs can potentially affect the structure or function of expressed proteins and therefore can have an impact on complex diseases. Interleukin 6 is a cytokine that acts on the immune system, with anti-inflammatory or pro-inflammatory actions depending on the cell in which it was produced. Overproduction of this cytokine results in complications in various autoimmune diseases, such as ankylosing spondylitis and rheumatoid arthritis. From genetic sequence research in the Ensembl database and software for protein analysis, it was possible to locate five missenses’ mutations (rs1282201857, rs1583431936, rs1257406129, rs756681741 and rs2069849) that affect the expression of the IL6 gene, whose impact leads to the emergence of complex diseases.

Abstract: Dengue is a serious public health problem, described as acute febrile illness, having a benign or severe course, depending on its presentation. The study aimed to present an analytical descriptive analysis of reported dengue cases in the municipality of Vitória de Santo Antão - PE. A bank was built in the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, exported to the SPSS program, version 21, and analyzed. To evaluate the distribution of the personal and clinical profile of the patients, the percentage frequencies were calculated and the frequency distributions were constructed. The prevalence of symptoms presented by the patients was calculated and which factors were associated with the diagnosis of dengue, constructing contingency tables and applying the Chi-square test for independence. Gross Odds Ration and confidence intervals were obtained. The factors that presented significance in the bivariate analysis were included in the multivariate analysis.  For the permanence of the factors in the model, the significance level of 5% was considered. The results were significant in relation to the characterization of the factors of the personal profile of the patients, indicating a higher prevalence of the disease in men (50.1%), aged 20 to 30 years (15.9%) and brown/black color/race (85.6%). The majority were not hospitalized (89.5%), being confirmed/discarded by epidemiological clinical criterion (92.2%), had cure of the disease (99. 8%), had dengue (61.0%) and three symptoms (35.9%). It is important that health professionals correctly fill out compulsory notification forms and that epidemiological weeks are properly fed with valuable information so that actions can be implemented.

Abstract: Dengue is considered an infectious pathogenesis of acute evolution, which in recent years has seen an increase in the number of cases, constituting a serious public health problem in the world, especially in tropical countries, where environmental conditions favor the development and proliferation of Aedes aegypti, the main vector mosquito. This study aimed to randomizer a systematic review of the literature in order to understand how the temporal space distribution of dengue cases occurs. A survey of the literature was carried out in July 2019, in the periodic databases CAPES and Google Scholar. The descriptors used were: "Temporal space distribution" AND "Dengue" AND "Geoprocessing". A total of 10 articles were selected and included according to the eligibility criteria. The inclusion criteria were articles in English, Spanish and Portuguese, in the last five years, involving analysis of the temporal space distribution of reported dengue cases. Geoprocessing techniques and geostatistics have made it possible for ecological studies to make more evident the participation of the conjunction of factors, including contextual factors, in the determination of the disease by incorporating effects of the specific characteristics of each social space. The sand-time analyses of dengue cases allowed the knowledge of the geographic distribution of the disease. As well as the techniques of analysis of time trends defined as useful areas in all studies allowed the development and construction of practices applied in the process of prevention and health promotion.

Abstract: Drug disposal is of concern to public health, as toxic waste can be considered depending on the composition and degree of toxicity. Therefore, they cannot have the same destination as waste considered common. Humans are responsible for disposal, be it expired drugs, leftovers, disuse or excess. Certainly, the impact on the environment is worrying and unprecedented, in addition advertising aimed at the sale of medicine stimulates the consumer and with this waste is generated. In the results of the present study, it can be seen that the number of people who dispose incorrectly prevails compared to the number of housings studied, thus the objective of the present study is to emphasize knowledge in general relation to the disposal of medications. For the problem of bad disposal to be solved it is necessary that the information reaches people and collection points are installed.

Abstract: It is known that advanced chronic kidney disease in the patient leads to the need for transplantation, and, consequently, to the use of immunosuppressants, which are drugs that prevent rejection of the transplanted organ. The present work is a literature review and aims to analyze the side effects of immunosuppressants in renal transplant patients. From studies on the adverse effects of immunosuppressants in patients who have undergone kidney transplantation, it will be analyzed whether it is possible to select a combination of drugs that minimize the risk of graft rejection and protect the transplanted from aggressor agents and above all from the adverse reactions of immunosuppressants on the patient. The present work is a descriptive study carried out through bibliographic consultation, using articles between 2016 and 2021, which had as inclusion the inclusion criteria the Keywords:  Kidney disease, Transplantation, Immunosuppressants and Adverse reactions; and exclusion, all that did not address the have. This work did not need to go through the Ethics Committee, because it is a literature review. It was noticed that side effects can be minimized by following the protocol of the use of immunosuppressants and that therapeutic individualization can reduce the damage caused by these medications.
